THIS COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL HUMAN BEINGS OF ANY NATIONALITY, AGE OR GENDER
THIS COMPETITION AIMS TO ENCOURAGE AND AFFIRM GOOD PLAYERS, MAYBE GET YOU SOME GIGS, THAT'S ALL.
IT'S ABOUT COMMUNITY, NOT HYPE
ELIGIBILITY: An Entrant (Individual) can be of any nationality. Invalid or ineligible entries shall be excluded from consideration. An Entrant may be either a professional or amateur guitarist as the aim is to encourage and affirm quality fingerstyle playing. By their submission of entry, Entrants warrant they are legally entitled and authorized to make such submission on their own behalf. In the event of a dispute as to the winner’s identity, entries will be deemed made by the holder of the email account associated with the entry.
TIMING: Contest begins at 6am on June 1st, 2018 and continues until 11pm on September 25, 2018. Entries MUST be received by 11 pm on September 25, 2016 to be eligible. Finalists will be announced by October 7th 2018.
HOW TO ENTER:
One Entrant (Individual) must submit two (2) unedited YouTube Videos, no longer than 5 minutes each and with no camera stops, of themselves playing the guitar. You can send these to email@example.com with the subject: Global Guitar Gita Entrant. The video should be recognizable as the person in the passport photo also to be submitted.
Entries may comprise of original songs or covers, and must be solo performances. It is acceptable to submit a non-original composition; provided the entrant is not “copying” the performance of the original guitarist or artist.
In all entries, the interpretation of the melody and solo of that song must be original in flavor and content.
Only one submission allowed per applicant. If multiple entries are submitted, only the first submission will be considered.
The following must accompany each video submission in order for your entry to be complete: 1) Applicant’s address, email, telephone number, age and a passport photo that looks exactly as in the video submission. Incomplete entries will not be considered. Applicants should retain copies of all materials sent with their entries. Organisers will accept no responsibility for entries lost in cyber space. JUDGING: A panel of professional guitarists will evaluate the videos on the basis of technique, interpretation, and artistry.
The shortlisted finalists will play at a live concert in Bangalore and be judged, live, by a panel of professional guitarists.
There will be one (1) grand prize winner and 2 runners-up.
*The grand prize for 2018 will be a custom built Concert Series Guitar built by master luthier David MacCubbin. It has been donated by Dream Guitars, North Carolina.
*This year, we also hope invite the winner to play a concert in Germany.
Former grand prize winners may not apply.
All decisions of the judges are final.
1. The winner will be selected at the Final Live Concert in Bangalore by a panel of professional guitarists and presented a custom built Concert Series guitar built by master luthier David MacCubbins and donated by Dream Guitars, North Carolina. This guitar is worth $5000
2. The winner and 2 runners-up will get backstage passes to attend World Guitar Nights
3. The winner and 2 runners-up will get free participation in the Guitar Clinic facilitated by the World Guitar Nights musicians
5. The two runners-up will get an honourable mention and certificates signed by the judges
6. All 10 finalists will get certificates signed by the judges and a discount to Guitar Clinic
All submissions for contest registration must be received by September 25th 2018 at firstname.lastname@example.org
The finalists will be notified by the Organizers (Infinite Souls) by October 7th, 2018
The finalists should arrange to be in Bangalore between October 19-21 2018
World Guitar Nights is on Oct 19/20 evening
Guitar Clinic is on Oct 21 morning
Global Guitar Gita finals is on Oct 21 night
CONDITIONS: The Organizers are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected, incomplete entries, or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer hardware or software or other technical failures.
Organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if it becomes corrupted in any manner such that it cannot be conducted as originally planned and, in such event, to select winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Organizers. In such event, Organizers shall have no liability to any Entrant who is disqualified due to such an action.
